As part of its ongoing capacity-building activities, the MediTwin Project sponsored three project managers from RSLab to attend the Advanced EU Funding & Project Innovation Camp, hosted by the European Academy in Athens from June 2–6, 2025. This intensive five-day programme is designed to enhance participants’ skills in designing, managing, and disseminating EU-funded projects, directly supporting RSLab’s strategic goal of elevating its research management profile.
Key Highlights from Athens 2025:
Day 1 – Proposal Design & Strategy
Introduction on the Objective–Output–Indicator framework, in order to align project objectives with EU funding priorities and to develop robust methodologies and work plans.
Day 2 – PM² Methodology
We explored governance structures, stakeholder and risk management, and gained an overview of PM² certification pathways. After the course a fruitfull panel discussion on PM² followed in the Hellenic Americal Union.
Day 3 – Innovation Readiness & Ecosystems
The focus was on organizational readiness assessments, integration into national and international innovation ecosystems, intellectual property strategies, and entrepreneurial commercialization.
Day 4 – Impact & Dissemination
We developed comprehensive dissemination and exploitation plans, culminating in a showcase of successful EU-funded initiatives. RSLab’s own MeDiTwin initiative was featured in a dedicated five-minute presentation slot, as well as other 2 EU projects coordinated by the RSlab project managers.
Day 5 – Financial Management & Audit Readiness
Focused on practical training covered Horizon Europe financial regulations, cost eligibility, reporting templates, and best practices for audit-proof documentation.
By participating in this high-level training, RSLab’s project managers ,had the opportunity to connect with researchers and managers globally, fostering a network that will strengthen RSLab’s ability to develop and deliver innovative, compliant, and high-impact EU-funded research.
