Our consortium came together for its second Plenary Meeting in Valencia on February 5, 2026, held in a hybrid format. The meeting marked an important step forward, kicking off the planning for Cycle II and further strengthening collaboration across partners.
Highlights
- Research & user stories: Progress on multiple creating multiple use cases (UVEG, MPG, NTUA) for the digital twin, including forecast comparison of fire danger predictions, and the use of Earth System model outputs.
- Training & mentoring: Ongoing capacity building through mentoring sessions, research exchanges, winter school planning, and preparation of another cloud computing training in NTUA.
- Climate Extremes Observatory Network: Planning is underway for the CEON, focusing on its structure, scope, and integration with Digital Twin activities, as well as its role in future outreach and collaboration efforts.
Looking Ahead
The project will focus on strengthening capacity building and advancing the development of the Digital Twin, while enhancing communication and dissemination activities. Efforts will also prioritise connecting research outcomes into operational services and establishing the Climate Extremes Observatory Network.
